O1 - Lay Family Health Advisors
A bespoke Lay Family Health Advisor curriculum
A bespoke curriculum will be designed to capitalise on the human assets within disadvantaged communities. This curriculum will train a team of Lay Family Health Advisors who will be deployed within their community to promote and improve health literacy rates.
This curriculum will comprise a comprehensive blended learning training intervention that will entail 100 hours of training comprising 35 hours of face-to-face classroom based instruction and 65 hours of self-directed learning. During the project lifecycle a minimum of 6 people will complete this training in each partner country.
Once the training is complete each Lay Family Health Advisor will establish a micro-network comprising members of 5 local families to support them to build key health literacy skills.
